Digital payments giant Ezetap has appointed its interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Byas Nambisan as its new CEO.
Byas appointment is made in response to the exit of founder CEO Abhijit Bose, who left the company to join WhatsApp as its India head.
Byas was appointed as Ezetap’s interim CEO in November 2018, while Ashish Gupta headed the board and looking for an ideal candidate.
He has been associated with the firm as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since 2014. He was always among the key members of the top leadership team. Prior to this, he completed his 20 years of work tenure at Intel Corporation as the CFO at Intel India.
He holds a post graduate degree in business administration from Carnegie Mellon University. In his new role, he will be leading the company from now on.
“I am looking forward to leading the company into break even soon and also chart new territories in the global fintech narrative – both geographically and technology wise,” he said.
