All eyes are on Pakistan today if its Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will attend a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
He had earlier threatened to boycott meet over invitation to Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
His statement came amid the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after the former claimed to have struck terror launch pads in Balakot in the country’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
On Wednesday, Director General of the Pakistan Armed Forces (Inter Services Public Relations) Major General Asif Ghafoor said Pakistan wants peace and India needs to understand war is a failure of policy.
He also called on the international community to play its role.
“Pakistan is sending a message of peace and they [international community] should also come forward and see how the environment between India and Pakistan are a threat to peace and development not only to the two countries but the region and beyond,” Major General Ghafoor stated.
